Stuff and Things

Hi Guys.  I feel like it’s been awhile.  Just wanted to stop in for a chat.  Here’s a little catch up, I’m digging, rando sort of post for your Monday.

So the gray out continues.  For now at least.  I don’t know what the plan is long term, but I’m trying for at least no hair color until 2017.  It’s been a little over two months.  So far it isn’t bothering me, but I think my viewing it as more of a science experiment makes me less cringe-y about it.  It is noticeable though.  I have both more AND less gray hair than I thought.  The hair that is gray is at least 50% gone.   But I have patches that are untouched.  The back isn’t gray.  I also have one stripe by my hairline without gray.  This means when I pull my hair back, you can’t tell as much.  Very interesting.

I just heard this song at the grocery store today, and I’m a little obsessed.  You guys all know this song?  What’s that?  You’ve been listening to it for over a year and now you are sick of it?  Alright, alright.  Don’t ruin this for me.  #tastemaker

Speaking of things that I’m loving, do you guys know about eyelid primer?  I seem to have gotten a bareMinerals sample at some point that I’m finally trying.  (Prime Time Eyelid Primer.)  Y’all.  This stuff is legit.  I enjoy my gel eyeliner for ease of application, but I swear there is nothing left by the end of the day.  Problem no longer.  This stuff has made application a little tricky because I’m used to being able to just smudge it around and now it stays put, but it’s a trade I will happily make.

Also also, the first two seasons of Fixer Upper are on Netflix until January 1.  I can’t explain exactly why I’m obsessed with this show, but I am.  Maybe it is the thought of taking a place and really making it your own.  Maybe just inspired by people who have four kids and do so much.  I don’t know, but I’ve been binging.  I’m on a deadline after all.

On the Italy front, we tried a panettone from a specialty shop instead of the grocery store.  (This one, but I’m sure other bakeries and such are similar.)  Turns out they are MUCH better.  More expensive.  But worth it.  Now I get it.  They aren’t just for turning into French toast anymore.

Also, we did Naples the weekend after Thanksgiving and I LOVED it.  Neapolitan pizza actually isn’t my jam (blasphemous I know), but the city itself was very fun.  I’ll try to get some pics here.  Eventually.

For upcoming travel, we are hitting the Christmas markets in Vienna.  (You guys know I love the Christkindlmarkt.  I’m excited.)  Then we are doing Venice in February for Carnival.  I’d like to hit Milan some weekend, but I keep forgetting to lock down Last Supper tickets.  Nothing planned on this yet, but I think we’ll do a big trip through Spain as our final hurrah here this spring.  I welcome all suggestions.

I think that’s it for now.  For upcoming content, there won’t be any gift guides this year (2015 lists here, here, here), but I’m going to try to get in some reading roundups before the year ends.

How are you?  Are you Team Shiplap?  Do you have a favorite eyelid primer?  Can you believe it is December already??  Hope you are enjoying the holidays thus far!
